I am about to marry US girl next week and then we planned to apply for my green card. But right now she is on social security benefits with bad credit and no tax returns...so was just wondering if that is going to be a great problem in my application? Also I am on J1 visa here and its just been 2 months in USA

She will need to show she has income of 125% of the poverty level for your household size...around $19,000 for two I think. She will need tax returns for the past three years. If she does not meet the income requirements she will need a cosponsor who does.

If you have 5 times the minimum required amount (5 *19,000 approx). Then you will be good. The requirement is, your spouse need to have around 19,000 as annual income. If she doesnt have that, then you can supplement it by assets. The total value of assets should be 5 times the difference between the annual income requirement deficit

You can be your own "sponsor" if your income meets the requirements. However, I'm not sure how you can prove that without US income tax returns and pays tubs. Perhaps a US bank statement. Read the form's instruction sheet very carefully.
