Hi everyone and Happy Holidays!

My fiancee has her interview scheduled for January 12th, but she just lost her phone and had to get another one. Naturally, the new phone has a different number from the one we put on all the forms. If she can't find her old phone, will we have to change all the paperwork with a new number or should we be okay since her interview is scheduled and there has been no address change?

Thanks,

Dave

i've read way back that a correct phone no# is very important especially if they can't track the home address of your fiancee. what the other couple did was they called the embassy and have them know that they change the phone no#... basically i lost my phone too (was stolen) but i havent called the embassy yet to have it change. i got a pre-interview letter though so i guess it means my home address is ok. have she gotten her packet yet? thats the important thing. means if she gotten anything from the embassy they can easily track her anytime...

The only reason that Claudeth needed a valid phone number was for DELBROS to text her when the visa had been given to them for delivery. The embassy never called her. Good luck

She has received her Packet 4, so they know where to find her by address. We could call the embassy and give them the new phone number, but I'm worried it might cause them to slow down the process for us, reschedule the interview or otherwise mess up.

I'm hoping she finds her phone and if she can't, I'm hoping she can have her old number assigned to her new phone.

What's taking so long to get her old number transfered to the new phone?

i think they're pertaining to pre-paid sim card on which if u lost your phone (and of course the sim card is there too) you'll have to buy another sim card means new no#... although ive heard if you're on a regular line, you can retrieve your old no# even if you lost your phone

I doubt it, you already have a interview date and the only real need is for Delbros like jasman said. Because you aren't going to need that number in the US :P:thumbs:

Thanks for all the input, but it's a mute point now - she found her phone (had lost it on a tri-wheel and was able to get it back from them).
