I think you have to check is there is some restriction about the spoken language...

Im not sure if she can come into USA as a permanent resident without speak any english, but im sure she can study a little bit and go prepared to the interview.

Maybe the basic things, the basic phrases and how to make sentences... it is and it will be so important to her, specially when they know that she is caring about to know the language, and thats it.

But go look check about the restrictions... I know there are some, but i dont know the website, ill go check and if i find ill come back to tell you, and if i dont find im sure someone will help you!!

Good luck :P

The Consular officers are supposed to have some training in the main local language. If your fiance is from India, the consular officers will probably speak Hindi to a reasonable degree. Because most fiance interviews are short, the consular officer should be prepared to conduct the interview in the native language. Usually, the consulate has local natives employed for translation purposes.

i know of no know restriction on coming to the USA without speaking english, just look around here and see how many people dont speak english

My guess would be that it is ok, for her to not speak english since she will be interviewed in her home country and they should have someone there to speak to her in her language.

I do agree that she should learn english it would be a great help to her here once she does arrive.

From what I've heard, the embassys always have people who speak the language of the country the embassy is in. I don't think that's a problem.

The problem is that you have to prove there is a relationship. You both must speak a common language to some degree, otherwise they will ask how can there be a relationship if you can't communicate.

There should be people speaking her language at the consulate in her country. As long as you prove that you speak her language I can't see that being a problem. She might want to learn some English to make her transition to life in the US easier but that's just a personal opinion :) Best of luck to you both!!
