While these laws are little more than statements...it is generally a better statement than parading around calling for "justice" for criminals killed by their intended victims.

In case anyone imagined there would be new gun laws following the justifiable killing of a thug scavenger in the process of a brutal assault on his neighbor, or new restrictions in our ability to defend ourselves from assault in our own neighborhoods, one should note that the trend has been the opposite.

It also points out that a minority of people, who are not gerrymandered by racists into political impotence, can accomplish when they can make the difference of election or not in the vast majority of state and federal legislative districts.
