I am currantly working in Kuwait..I have recieved my Notice of Approval back at my home in NC. My Finacee and I are both working here in Kuwait.....

I called home today, and my mom read the letter... Valid 7-19-2013 to 11-18-2013, There was a A205xxxxx...number next to the name of my Fiancee...

What is the next step...as I am here in Kuwait, what do you recommend I do, and what does it mean about the "Valid" thru Dates?

What we want to do is get our visa and move to North Carolina and get married, and not return here to Kuwait...

I have spent about two hours looking around this site trying to get an idea... sorry if this has been answered somewhere I just could not find it.

Thank you!!!

George

Next is getting your case# from NVC you can call than once you get case# you can email your embassy and you get instructions however they do it for next steps for medical and all your forms.

Check your countries forum and ask what are the procedures. IO know each embassy does K1's a bit different.

For a K-1 visa, it's best to study the K-1 flowchart in the Guides Section.

Casefile flow:

USCIS->NVC->US Embassy/IV Unit

Once it hits the IV Unit, further info will be given.

AT NVC - a Consular Casefile Number will be issued.

Best to call in to NVC 3 times a week, get the Consular Casefile #. Make certain it's at the Embassy/IV unit you want, and if it's not, move heaven and earth with a supervisor phone call to get the casefile rehomed to that other country.

The valid through dates are for the next step - scheduling the interview. The IV Unit will schedule , and always try to stay within that duration for the appointment date. If it goes past that, don't fret, as often the IV Unit will auto-extend the validity of duration..

You really not need anything at the moment or even for the interview, from what arrives at Mom's House.

Don't sweat stuff mailed to Mom. Ask her to scan and email that NOA-2 to you, though... and to keep the original, as you'll need it after you are married to file the Adjustment of Status casefile.

The Consular Casefile # can be had via telephone into NVC - so plan ahead if you don't have a skype account already, pay the low fee to get unlimited calling.

In yer I-129F packet - what country and what address was the beneficiary listed ??

For Her address we used her Kuwait address, but it is very hard to get mail to people here... I got her a post box, and if I can ... I would like all the mail to come to my APO address.. its more secure too. How do I get them to mail everything to me here in KUWAIT???

Can you change your mailing address after it hits the NVC without causing problems??

Unknown.

However - does your USEmbassy utilize ustraveldocs.com for K-1 visa chasing and processing?

When I review http://ustraveldocs.com/ComingSoon/kw/index.html

http://ustraveldocs.com/ComingSoon/kw/index.html

http://ustraveldocs.com/ComingSoon/kw/index.html

I see it's coming soon.

I know it's possible to update addresses at NVC, folk chasing a K-1 visa - so you could try to email (and pray) or you can call in on Monday (when they are open) and inquire.

I suggest this - once you learn of the consular casefile number from NVC,

email the IV unit at

http://kuwait.usembassy.gov/visas/contact-us.html

and give them the address you want their info to go to.

If you haven't already, you should read the Embassy Info page at the top of this website for Kuwait. Everything is done over email (other than the DHL delivery of the visa/passport) and their response time is very fast. My responses ranged from within 2 hours to 2 days max. Having your case number will be good, but the only other thing you may need is a copy of the letter mailed from NVC sent to the petitioner saying they forwarded your petition because when the beneficiary does their medical the doctor's office asks for it. My now husband was able to talk his way past the receptionist because he was doing his medical before I received the letter. He gave her the case number and showed her the NOA2 approval letter and the email from the Embassy and it worked for him, but that might not happen for you. Other than that, once the Embassy receives the package, they emailed me, the petitioner, with the first set of instructions right away.

As previously suggested, I would get your case number and from there email the Embassy using the case number and beneficiary name in the subject line and following their instructions afterwards.

Good luck

Thank you for the information.... I will try calling via Skype from Kuwait, or even a email... anyway Thank you for the information.

Please note I am suggesting:

1. phone call into NVC about the address and

2. emailing the IV Unit at the Embassy about the address.

IMO, because of time and timing, is useless to email NVC, as they might respond after the casefile has left NVC, and by then, it's too late.
