How long does it take for NVC to respond to email asking for MNL#?

As the question says. I got the case number today (wow, fast - got the NOA2 Monday), but need confirmation via email for the medical, per guru Hank's guidelines. biggrin.png

We got our manila case # on July 18 and was ready at USEM Manila on July 22. We sent a request email to NVC for the details of my petition and they replied on our email on July 25 so it took only 3 days.. And at the same time we received the hard copy of the NVC letter on the same date July 25. smile.png

Okay, I just re-read Hank's guide, and upon that closer look, it sounds like he's saying you don't actually need the NVC email to go to the medical, and that you can use your interview appointment confirmation email instead. So that gives me a little more breathing room with that second option.

Be sure to pre register at St. Luke's and print 2 copies of it..As far as i remember, the guard at St. Luke's asked me the NVC Instruction letter..I don't know someone did their medical without it..

Well, we still need the NVC status letter for the medical. I have called St. Luke and they told me to bring the NVC status letter with the details of the petition (like names of the petitioner & beneficiary, USCIS Receipt no., Manila case #) and the interview appointment confirmation and the online registration form from St. Luke.

And since that time we have not received yet our hard copy of the NVC status letter, we sent our request to NVC. It would be handy to have these requirements on hand. Now, I am good and ready for my medical this coming wednesday. smile.png

Mine was 2 days after i got the MNL case number via phone

2 weeks before you received the instruction letter from NVC after having you case number?..huh..my friends i talked to had theirs in less than 5 days...

Different process for K-1, only get the MNL # from NVC.

You won't get the email reply (or letter) from NVC until your file has shipped to USEM.... good way to track your file wink.png

Hmm, well we obviously are not going to get that before a Wednesday medical, so do you think they will accept the interview appointment confirmation and a scanned copy of the NOA2? We do have the MNL case number, just not printed on any letter.

For quite some time that was what many used, the confirmation letter from scheduling the interview online (it does not have MNL # listed on it though). Then lately SLEC has been making more noise about either having the NVC letter or the embassy letter ... just so it has the beneficiary's name and the MNL # .

And that is why I have started to suggest email NVC to request the MNL # (even after calling and getting the number) as that will give you a correspondence from NVC with the required info to make SLEC happy.

As far as I know, St. Luke is still going to ask for the NVC letter. (An emailed or mailed letter from NVC)

Try to send a request email at the same time give NVC a call. That was what we did. And they got back to us in 3 days time on email. I have an emailed and mailed letter now. Maybe you will get a reply just in time for your fiancee medical.

Yeah, I'll call them Monday and beg and plead for that email - tell them I need it for the medical. :D

Did you email NVC already requesting your MNL # ? If so... the email will be coming, once your file has shipped. Calling and begging is of no value. ;)

I called tonight, when she gave the MNL# I asked right then if she could email that to my email address that she had on record. She said to try that on Monday (call and ask for the rep to email it).

And yes, I did email NVC as well.

Take the worry out of being close, email them per the instructions in my link... then its in their system for a quick auto-reply.
