Okeedokie... so I talked to Vancouver today about if they need to accept and request the case and the guy I spoke to said that no, Montreal should transfer it with a valid reason and address, etc. and he mentioned that a lot of people transfer for a faster interview date, in which case, they accept the case on a case by case basis (which is maybe why Montreal has been kind of weird about my transfer and said they needed Vancouver to accept it and request it). Of course I couldn't call Montreal back after the call because of the time difference.

So anyway, I emailed Montreal, explaining my situation with the address I'll be at and will call them tomorrow about it. The person I spoke to on the phone on the 17th who said to just fax in my request to them didn't mention anything about an address or reason. Hopefully I'll get this resolved tomorrow.

Transfer granted and confirmed by email by both consulates. Love love love the Vancouver guy I dealt with. Now the wait for Packet 3...

Awesome! Transfers a probably good for people going through Vancouver and Montreal. For every applicant that gets transferred to Vancouver, that's one less couple in the long line at Montreal.

And good point about freeing up time in Montreal for other applicants!
