Hello all,

Yesterday I received notice that my approved !-129F application has been sent to the Department Of State (a.k.a. NVC?).

I called the NVC to determine what additional documents or fees I would need to pay from the USA.

The representative said the file will be immediately transferred to the Consulate in Brazil and the remaining documents and fees would be collected there...including the ASO (Affidavit of Support).

Is this true?

Thanks you.

Yes its true. You are a K1. The only thing happening for you at NVC is an assignment of case# and off you go to your embassy. Once you get case# you should contact your embassy for further instructions.

You can be already ahead of the game with all your forms. Check with your country forum and see what they like to see. And how to contact your embassy once you get case# (email, phone call ?).

Some embassies want to see I-34 and I-864 for K1. Check the documents requirement at K1 interview and be ahead and not caught at last minute i would say while waiting on case#.
