Hi to all VJ members!!!i have some question here ..answers and ideas will be very much appreciated....my fiance filed a k-1 last May 2013 and that time my fiance is jobless coz he just finished his college and jsut starting to find a job, but bcoz we really want to be together and know that the process will takes time so we decided to file it eventhough he dotn have job that time...well anyway ,now he is working in a good company...my question now... is der any possibilities that our k1 petitioned will be denied bcoz of him being jobless on the time dat he filed our pettion for k-1?

You don't need to do anything with the affidavit of support until the consulate interviews in the beneficiary country. So, you should be okay. Depending on how much he makes, if he doesn't make enough be may have to find a co sponsor , but even that isn't the end of the world.

May 29, 2013 - Finally!!! I-129F and associated forms delivered!

June 3, 2013 - NOA1!

August 19, 2013 - NOA2! (email)

October 10, 2013 - NVC has our case, Vancouver number assigned

***Communications with Vancouver begging to put my case on hold a while due to house not selling!!!***

February 18, 2014 - Packet 3 Submitted

February 20, 2014 - Packet 4!!

May 5, 2014 - Medical

May 7, 2014 - Consulate Interview

May 13, 2014 - K1 visa in hand!!!

July 2, 2014 - POE (Sweetgrass)<p>

July 23, 2014 - apply for EI (mother of god that was confusing...)<p>

August 11, 2014 - finally get hitched!

September 16, 2014 - send off AOS/AP/EAD

You don't need to do anything with the affidavit of support until the consulate interviews in the beneficiary country. So, you should be okay. Depending on how much he makes, if he doesn't make enough be may have to find a co sponsor , but even that isn't the end of the world.

K1 co-sponsors are not accepted in every country.

While they may be accepted in the Philippines (I don't actually know), it's best to point this out so someone else doesn't assume.

All that matters is the ability of the petitioner to sponsor the beneficiary at the time of the interview and onwards. If his income doesn't meet the poverty guidelines, there have been successful co-sponsorship in USEM.

No Current income is key.

same situation. my fiance was jobless when he petitioned me last nov 2012, so he get a co sponsor which is his mom. application got approved, now he is working since january.. my interview date is on july 30 2013 which is nextweek monday.. oh and we have a baby btw..

same situation. my fiance was jobless when he petitioned me last nov 2012, so he get a co sponsor which is his mom. application got approved, now he is working since january.. my interview date is on july 30 2013 which is nextweek monday.. oh and we have a baby btw..

No. When you get scheduled for the interview, you will be required to submit an Affidavit of Support (I-134) from your fiancé. As long as he has a job when he files, it should be fine.
