Happens every day. If they are innocent the liklihood of you people giving a rats a$$ is hovering somewhere between zero and zilch. It takes killing a criminal in the act of committing a crime to stir you and your little hive up to defend his civil rights

On Tuesday of this week, 3 young black men were killed in Chicago by 3 other young black men.

I expect Al Sharpton to hold a news conference. Soonish. There should be dozens of topics appearing in VJ P&R any moment about this tragedy. It will all be about race...wait. nm.

It wasn't for a lack of trying though. If not for the glorious efforts of the NRA and our heroes in congress, we would've had to line up and hand in our "assault rifles" to Sen. Feinstein and 'bama and 'nem.

They're going to try again after this next election.

And again after that.

Some people just don't get it.

No mini-14's though. I'm looking for another ranch model, they never make the ban list.

That's because the Mini-14 is a sporting rifle and incapable of being a weapon of mass destruction like an AR-15 or AK-47. They're made to be shot in the woods and carried by hunters and ranch hands, not criminals on our streets.

They're perfectly harmless. They don't even have the shoulder thingy that goes up!

No background check is required when selling to a licensed individual because theyve been checked to get their license. In cases where they auction to the public, all BATFE and state laws must be followed. That typically includes a background check.

Some buybacks do get melted down but the current fiscal crises in most urban areas dictate they do whatever they can to get cash. Buybacks area great way to raise funds because guns are bought at pennies on the dollar and auctioned/sold at a profit. Plus most buyback monies are donated by civic orgs or big corporations. City pays nothing, gets money in return. Win-win for them.

We had one here a few months ago where a church donated $5,000 in gift cards for the guns. They had the city process them (after citzens posted up outside cherry-picked them ala Gary) and then resell them to dealers in the area. They ran out of cards before noon. Everyone was happy!

It is kind of you to have such patience with people who normally post opinions with no information at all to back it up.

Frankly, the Federal and state firearms laws are a matter of public record available through google search and IMO people can inform themselves or talk out their @ss. Makes no difference to me. The theory that informing them of the facts will change their mind is naive. I prefer they talk out their @ss.

Personally I do not post on topics I have no knowledge of. That would leave a lot of people not posting at all, though.

I've realized folks who aren't gun nuts are sometimes not slow and uninformed, they're just not gun nuts yet.

Like a beautiful woman who's never met a man that's turned her out, she just can't understand it until she's had it. Once she's been there and done that she'll start to get it and from that point on, actively seek it out herself. But she can't do that if every man she meets brags about how good he is but never gives what he has to her.

Simply put, it's time for us to turn these ladies out.
