Why Have Gun Sales Dropped So Much?

Me too. I've never seen such fondness for an inanimate object in my life. You'd think people would get bored with making an object create loud noises over and over. I guess since that loud bang can possibly kill someone, that makes it more fun. To each his own I guess.

The joy of shooting has very little to do with big bangs and 'splosions. Mastery of marksmanship is about challenging oneself to overcome adversity and really excell at a skill. Its also honoring a uniquely American tradition handed down from our forefathers. Our birthright to own guns and be shooters is one thing, owning it is quite another.

Part of the value of a buy back program is knowing your gun is not going to shoot someone. The money is an added bonus.

Most buybacks resell the guns through ffl dealer auctions.

Need to start looking again for that AR.

Armslist is a good place to find deals.

If the government is going to force me to exercise my "right" to health care, then they better start requiring people to exercise their Right to Bear Arms. - "Where's my public option rifle?"

If this is the case, it is a scam.

Do they even do a background check at the auctions?

Background checks? Stop trying to infringe on people's constitutional rights.

Read his post in another thread. The widower was offering the gun for $5o , not the government and he offered a slightly higher price knowing it was worth much more. He gloated.

government buybacks offer a flat rate for pistols, another rate for shotguns, and another rate for rifles.

if the pistol one sells is worth $500, the government will offer the flat rate (say $50 in this case).

if the gun is broken and worthless, the government will still offer the flat rate.

rarely though does the government offer anything that approaches fair market value for buyback programs.

remember the cash for clunkers deal several years ago? one's car may be worth more than what the government is offering - but it's up to the seller to be informed.

What's even funnier is the same people take the bait, day after day.

Nothing else to talk about until someone else kills somebody.

Could be Muslims though. Don't discount the possibilities.

The Muslims/Muslim haters have been on hiatus as of late.

They're just sitting back waiting for this GZ/TM thing to blow over. I'm starting to think it never will, so we may never see them post here again.
