Hello everyone. I am posting my first topic and hopefully I will get some response. I am a GC holder and I recently got married. I got married in my country and my spouse is still back home. At this point she is preparing for her GRE and have plans to apply for student visa in December. I am kind of in a limbo of indecision as to whether or not I should file for her I-130 right now. If I file for it now, she won't be eligible for student visa anymore and her higher education plans will be disrupted. But if the immigration reform is passed she won't have to wait for a visa number. I know the bill is still in congress and there is no telling when a verdict will be reached. In this current situation should I just go ahead and apply for her I-130 or should I wait. What would be the best course of action?

Student visa would be the best course of action in my opinion. But I heard its getting harder and harder to get a student visa(from India), but not sure in bangladesh.

Thank you guys for your response. canadian_wife, yes, I do not want to make any decision around this reform bill. Its all political riffraff and there is no telling what will happen next. soccerFan, student visa in Bangladesh is a little relaxed right now, it is much better that what it used to be just a few years ago. If my wife could apply for student visa right now, I would have asked her to do it right now. But it seems like it will take her a while. She just started her GRE prep. I just learned today from the visa bulletin that they lifted the visa cap for F2A category. This means visa is available right now. I definitely need to research on this a little bit more before I make any decision.
