One of my co workers who's black said he had a white friend who used to make fun of him because he didn't know how to play golf. Back then he couldn't afford the green fees. He said that alone made him go out, save his money, practice golf whenever he could. Now he beats him at his own game, he even told him, I did it just to show you I could.

Because back then, black folks didn't play golf. Can you think of anyone who played golf before Tiger Woods? Basketball and baseball were our staples. No one I knew growing up could even get membership to the clubs we had.

i wouldn't be on a public forum discussing race relations if it wasn't something i cared about. i have no problem changing my opinions when i learn something new. i used to be a homophobe. it wasn't until i had a friend tell me she was bi and afraid that i would stop being her friend if i found out that i slowed my roll. i had to reevaluate my stance. that's what life is about, learning/adapting. so while we may disagree, i respect that your opinions are yours and there's a reason you have them. more about perception than ignorance, imo.

When I was a kid, my grandfather used to watch golf on TV every Sunday. Those were quite possibly the most boring Sundays of my entire life.
