Medical interview in London K1

Hey VJ,

I am going to call NVC today regarding our LDN# and I am wondering if he can schedule the medical interview once we have the case number or if we must wait for London to say they have our case at the embassy. I am seeing conflicting answers to this, so if just like some clarification.

London and the medical people want you to have a file in London and the embassy notify you that they are ready to receive your things. That's the real answer.

But if you really want to schedule your medical ASAP, then all the clinic asks is if you have your LND number, so there is nothing preventing you from scheduling whether London is ready for you are not. Could they misplace the pieces of your application if you jump the gun? Maybe and maybe not. Your choice. Your risk.

Firstly, if you haven't already, you probably want to read these two threads:

He can schedule it once he has his LND number (and he'll also need his police certificate). He'll want to make sure that London likely has his case when he has his medical, as the results will be couriered to the embassy about 4 days after the medical, and if his case is not there at the time, they may have trouble marrying up his results with his case and they could get lost.

He probably won't be able to get a medical appointment for at least 2 weeks, so likely that'll be enough time.

I've been told by my other half I should wait for London embassy to send me my package before booking my medical even though I have my case number. Id hate for them to lose my file. So thank you for putting this message up

I see you have confirmed your case has left NVC. It's pretty safe for you to book something 2-3 weeks out. If you wait for your letter and call, they may not have an opening for two more weeks beyond that. The unsure thing would be to get an LND number and attend the medical in two days (less busy times for Knightsbridge) then find out your case got stuck at NVC for a month, which has happened.

Yea I would agree and say to you GO AHEAD AND BOOK THE MEDICAL! There is a 2 week waiting list or so at the moment so London will have your file by then what are you waiting for!

I waited until my case said "In Transit" from NVC to London, that was on a Monday, by Friday it said "Ready" which I take to mean it's in London, I then booked my medical for 2 weeks ahead, that plus 4 days to get it to the embassy should ( I hope) mean they are ready.

So my medical is 7 Aug and I would hope to have their instructions by then as well. Once I get out of the medical I am going to post my DS2001 and all the other DS forms to the embassy so they have them before the medical results get there, or at a similar time anyway.

I will try and report back here and let you know if that timescale worked for me. Bloody hope so!!!
