Notice Shipped to NVC 7/18 from TSC

On July 18, we received an e-mail that our file had been shipped out to the NVC. I waited a week, which is today, and then called them up to inquiry about our case. I was given the same line last time when I called that it takes up to 8 weeks. By the way our approval (NoA2) was June 26. I was wondering if anyone else from TSC with the NVC ship notification on 7/18 has received their case number yet? I told the lady about the notification that it had been shipped to them, and she said that was not the case. Now dealing with this people from the USCIS level I'm sure this lady is limited in what she knows and says. So if anyone has from our shipped group, that will at least give me some more details to push myself to someone who might know more.

at the nvc stage, it really is a waiting game. it is unlikely that it will take the full 8 weeks

All of it is definitely one big waiting game. It's like the longest musical chairs you've ever played, where you are waiting for the music to start up again. Though I'm curious as to if anyone else in my ship group has contacted the NVC and obtained a case number yet. Now that would make me believe that either they haven't looked at mine just yet, or that I should talk to someone higher up to confirm.

[september 26th 2013] Emergency appt at HM Passport Office London - New Passport and Birth Certificate in hand

[October 3rd] - Docs delivered to Embassy

[October 10th] - London Approves and Issues our Visa!!

[October 16th 2013] 4.00pm - Visa in my hand, 11pm POE -Newark

Thank you everyone for replying, and it seems that our cases are still collecting dust at TSC, in transit, or sitting in the NVC waiting to be looked at. Let's hope that they get to them soon, and we all get our case number posthaste. At least after NVC we should be in the clear on the waiting game, as I like to believe the Embassy will be a little easier to deal with. Shh if i'm in denial about this one, let me stay there :P

Called DoS number. No waiting time at all. Much better than calling the NVC number.

After giving her my number she said hold on and then a few seconds later asked for my name. That's when I knew they had it as they never asked for name before but would just say they didn't have it.

After verifying name she gave me the case number.

Is this the number 202-663-1225?

Yes. Call that, then press 1 for English and 0 for operator. No need to go through the menus. They should pick up pretty much right away.
