The A number in the affidavit letter

I have a question on the A number in the affidavit letter. In the sample letter, there is an A number. Is this number for the friend or for the petitioner?

It's for the petitioner. Although I would be hesitant to share any identifiers with anyone.

Do you mean I -134?. That is for petitioner. If the petitioners are USC through naturalization then give the number on top of right certificate (where it says No: .... with red color number).

If petioners are permanent resident ( hold green card) then the petitioner needs to write A number.

The info of befiniciary needs to fill in the question 3 and 10 of I-134. That is it.

I'll throw one more thing into the mix.

The A# for a K-1 visa chaser is assigned at USCIS. It's noted in the approval notice on the I-129F.

So, if a petitioner (USCitizen) is filling out an I-134 whilst chasing a K-1 visa - it's the A# on the foreign fiance.

I am confused with the question, though, based on yer timeline and the forum you are posting in. Which 'affadavit letter' are you referring to, and it's being filed in conjuntion with WHAT? Assuming a ROC casefile, then it's the A# of the person filing for the removal of conditions...

Sorry for the confusion. I put this topic under Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion so I thought it should be clear that I was asking about the Sworn Affidavit from Friends for ROC not for anything else.

So for ROC, the A number in the Sworn Affidavit from Friends is for the petitioner (the non-citizen spouse), right?

"A" is for Alien Registration Number. Before a petitioner gets a SSN, they get one of these. When applying for AOS, they will want the "A" number on the NOA2, regardless of whether the petitioner has since received a SSN. At the Biometrics interview, they will allow you to give them either. Some old-timers in the US military used to have military ID cards issued with "A" numbers, as perhaps they enlisted prior to the social security system.
