I'm ready to FINALLY mail my AOS/EAD/AP apps today!!! icon_jig.gif

Should I send it Saturday delivery or wait for Monday? icon_question.gif

Thanks!

More than likely nobody will be there to acccept it so it will be re-delivered on Monday anyway, so I would not incur the additional expense...

YMMV

If you Fedex you have to send to a special address, because you can't Fedex to a PO Box. I personally Fedexed because I like the tracking information, which USPS sucks for. The only issue was Fedex tried to deliver to early in the morning and nobody was there! They redelivered 2 hours later and everything was fine.

USPS would most likely be cheaper.

We sent ours USPS on a Thursday and it was delivered on Sunday to the P.O. Box. Our problem was that USPS' tracking is horrible, we didn't find out it got there till the following Friday which had us on pins and needles and if it weren't for my dad having a friend at the post office who phoned Chicago and checked on it for us I don't think we would have found out that early. When I phoned their 800 number they said well it takes a few days and you can't file anything till it's been a month! Guess what I'm telling you is that I wouldn't use them again for anything important.

I sent my package via USPS with return receipt and it got there within 5 days. But yes, their tracking does suck and the return receipt is a joke. The tracking didn't update until about two days after delivery and the return reciept didn't get back to me for over a month! By that time I had already received the NOA's for my applications.

I'm with you! Its just a shame that USCIS itself uses plain old regular snail mail to send out such important things as Green Cards and EADs.

Why? The US mail service works just fine and it's cheap. If USCIS started to use FedEx etc, I suspect the application fee would jump up :)

Too many people have had their Green Cards "lost in the mail" or "returned to sender" for no good reason for me to agree with you I'm afraid.

I sent mine via USPS. I used priority mail, because the package fit nicely in the pre paid priority mail envelope. It was only $2.40 (I think) and I also used delievery confirmation.

I mailed it last Tuesday and they received it on Saturday. I also received an email from USPS telling me when it arrived in Chicago and when it was delivered (both on Saturday).

FedEx was $27 to have it there by 10AM MOnday. Well worth the extra $$ to know FedEx has it!!
