Thank you everybody those who answered my other question "Consular processing ?? AOS ?? "

I have another question to be asked about the representation.

For I-130 my wife( a US CITIZEN) has hired a lawyer and I have got approval for I-130. Now I am in USA with K3 visa. I have not filed for AOS yet.

1) Still the lawyer representing for her?? I mean , here the I-130 is approved but till I get the creen card still he is going to be the representative???

2) Lets say I file AOS and submit G-28 form with somebody else as representative , then the former representative will loose the representative position ??

3) Can my wife be the representative for this case.

Only lawyers need to submit the G28 to show they are authorized to represent you.

If you change lawyers, the new one will submit a new G28 and the old one should send a letter to USCIS saying they are not going to be your lawyer anymore.

Your wife doesn't need to file G28, she doesn't need to "represent" you. You don't need a representative at all if you don't want to have one. Just tell your lawyer you want to do the rest yourself.

"When all else fails, read the instructions."
