The system did work in the TM/GZ case. When there's so much doubt surrounding the actual events, and a serious lack of evidence ... how can anyone claim it didn't?

I believe it did as well. I also believed he was overcharged. The entire investigation was jacked from the start.

And lastly you know why race relations are bad right now? Because the folks that are dancing on TM's grave, the ones with the mean and vicious comments that TM was some type of animal, the ones that swear he was up to no good. It's funny how in this case disrespecting TM causes no loss of credibility because in your mind he was nothing more than a common criminal, it's become a staple by some of our more "colorful" members here, but trying to defend him is a moot point. The Boston bomber is on the cover of Rolling Stones magazine, they are trying to humanize him. He killed 4 people and wounded over 300, yet he gets more sympanthy that the black kid walking home from the store.

What you perceive to be people dancing on TM's grave is probably people that are happy that our justice system wasn't hijacked by a bunch of black racists with an agenda. They pushed like crazy to get TM and this case in the spotlight. They WANTED this attention. And they got it. Don't cry about all the attention now, when the outcome of the trial didn't go your way. What about all the stuff said about GZ? All the death threats? All the false accusations and fake 911 transcripts? Where's you outrage and sympathy for him?

I seriously doubt the Boston bomber get's more sympathy than TM just because he's on the cover on some magazine. Hitler was Time's man of the year once. Go back and look at some of the people that have been on magazine covers, they're not all upstanding citizens, trust me.

And what evidence do you have to support your statement? You keep overlooking how many black men are killed and their killers are aquitted. Try some context every once in a while.

You keep bringing up all these cases that took place in the south in the 60s. Do you have something more recent?

I'm a white guy and I can say a few choice words about Dzhokhar Tsarnaev if it would make you feel better.

I wouldn't limit that thinking to "right wingers" I think alot of people left/right white/black wonder the same thing. Why all the attention given to this one particular case, while seemingly ignoring the 100s if not 1000s of victims of crime committed within the black community itself? It's a valid question. Blaming that on Fox news or Rush Limbaugh, or ilovemygunmorethanmywife.com is pretty irresponsible. But hey, any scapegoat out there where you can blame someone else for the internal problems of your community, go for it. Just stop blaming your problems on racism and other people. Maybe when that changes, the real issues will be addressed.

The problem isn't that they are ignoring the problem, it's no one is listening. I've posted links about Chicago, STL, and other places that had high crime, but it's only important when folks want to highlight our problem in contrast to mass shootings in white neighborhoods. Do some digging, anytime a mass shooting took place, certain folks on here would love to post black crime statistics with much joy and enthusiasm. What was the tagline? "Fix this problem first before you take our guns". I've posted about mothers losing all four sons, the response, give her a gun(Gary). I've posted about more kids are killed in Chicago than Afghanistan and Iraq, the response, so what.

No one blames Fox or Rush, this is bigger than that. I've also posted how kids in school are treated, how districts are treated in regards to race and many other articles highlighting problems, yet those get ignored.

Oscar Grant, 2008, Sean Bell, 2006.

I would put Jordan Davis down as he was killed last year, but we will have to see if Mr. Dunn who claimed SYG will get off.

Of course no one is listening to your problems. Because as far as I could tell the last 6 months, the biggest problem facing the black community was George Zimmerman.

I'm not going to defend any of the statements made by the gun nuts around here. That's for sure.

Real issues? Yeah, like racial prejudice no longer exists except among extremist groups like the neo-nazis and kkk. Sorry that it's too painful for some to acknowledge that the two hundred plus years of institutionalized racism can't be wiped away and forgotten in a matter of decades. Bigotry and stereotypes about blacks is real and continues to permeate within society, and pretending it's not there only reaffirms the kinds of societal injustices that blacks in America experience on a daily basis.

Ok. Oscar Grant. That was the guy at the Fruitvale station. There definitely seems something wrong there. Let's talk about that. Nope. Sorry. No time for that. We have dim-witted white guy in Sanford we have to lynch in the media first.

Sean Bell. Another case of the cops gone wild it seems.

I don't know all the facts, but on the surface these both seem like cases of cops that never got to shoot their guns enough. You'll get no sympathy for the cops from me. I hope they hang.

Trying to send an innocent man to prison for defending himself, and playing the race card while doing so, isn't going to fix any of that. In fact, it has probably made things worse.

I'm pretty sure you can celebrate our legal system working without resorting to calling TM a racist, thug, wannabe gangster, wasted life, thing and other words I can't post here. Folks wanted GZ to pay for killing TM, I know you have your opinion, but others do to. You know what? It's funny you brought this up about GZ, I have something for you:

I know about the dictators on TIME. Did you read the article? I'll post it once I find it.

Wow. That is f*cked up. Seems like Lance Gross is a real pr!ck. I'm glad you posted that. What a worthless excuse for a human being. I can't believe you would even think that's ok.

I wouldn't call him innocent, not by a long shot. Just like TM wasn't this hyped up criminal that folks make him out to be.

Remember when you said that if GZ was black he would be unjustly convicted? I agree 100%, I know that the actions they would have used to convict him, have been used to save him now.
