People care about things that affect them and their community. People don't care about scots because scots do not commit murders at 6-7 times the rate of the rest of society and scots don't commit these murders and then blame people who oppressed them 3-4 generations ago.

My heritage is minimum expectation for citizens here. Others have had it much worse. The Japanese community had their properties ripped and were rounded up in concentration camps during WWII. After the war, starting over with nothing, they bounced back nicely and did not use their treatment here in the US as an excuse for crime and violence either. The Chinese were brought here as forced labor to build railroads and infrastructure in the 19th century. People from other European countries came here to escape religious violence. We have a history of immigrants who came here with nothing and settled in, worked, raised families, and built everything here.

This is not about me at all other than what happened to my grandparents or great-grandparents has zero, nothing to do with how I conduct myself today. This is about a single group, the ONLY group, who uses the past as an excuse for their choices and behaviors today then complains about the consequences.
