Hi niceperson, is not easy to persuit that visa. You will need to find a job here, somebody who is willing to sponsor you. But also needs to proof there's nobody here in the US, who can perform that job but you. Usually this kind of visa is granted for a very specific professionals and technicians, scientist etc. Is also common in large corporation where high professional staff are exchange. Is not easy to qualify at all. If eventually you want to become in a US citizen you need to remain with the same sponsor for 5 years aprx. After 5 years you can apply for a green card and after another 5 years you can get the citizenship. Its around 10 to 12 years. A friend of mine was hired by Texaco cause he is a high tech engineer in the petroleum and perforation are and this company sponsor him 5 years and then he could applied for his green card. He still has 3 years ahead until he can apply for citizenship.

I highly doubt a store manager qualify as a sponsor for this kind of visa

1 & 2. To get a US job, the employer must get a labor cretic action that no US resident can do the job or is available for the job. With the labor certification, the employer can seek a work visa for a foreign employee.

This is where you are going to have problems. First, what is your degree in? Being an administrative assistant is meaningless for a work visa. Second, you need a US emplyer who is willing to go through this long an costly process for you. No one here can help you find a job. This is something you do on your own.

3. To get US citizenship, you need to be a Legal Permanent Resident (LPR) for 3 years married to a US citizen or 5 years. To be an LPR, you need to get a work visa first. So, this is possible after you have had a work visa for a few years.

4. At least $5000. Could be a lot more.

Administrative Assistant? Is that skilled labour? I am not sure but I think it might be difficult for you to find an employer willing to sponsor you for a work visa.

If you want to be a citizen, you need to first find a legal way to the US, through a work visa or an immigrant family based visa. Then you must be a resident for a certain amount of time (3-5 years) then you may apply for citizenship. It is not just given to anyone who wants it.

good luck

An admin assistant may be a graduate role, though even that is borderline, and it may be a skilled role. However, there are plenty of people in the US able to work as an admin assistant. I really don't see a way that an employer could show that you have skills that are in short supply in the US, sorry.

Going on the information you've provided, if you really want to leave Pakistan you are probably better off looking at other countries whose immigration rules are less strict.

To get a skilled job visa (such as an H1B), your bachelors has to be seen as equivalent to a US University bachelors degree or higher from an accredited University there in Pakistan. Your job has to be within your degree qualifications or you need to have 5 years of experience in the field you want to be hired. So if you have a degree in music, for example, you will need to either get a job requiring a music degree or you need to have 5 years of qualification in the job you are applying for. The other visa where they aren't that strict with degree requirements is L1. Which is inter-company transfer. Find a company in Pakistan that has offices in US and work for them for at least a year and see if you can get transferred to the US based on your qualifications. Usually that's how most managers and executives and other employees who don't have high tech degrees get moved to the US. Many of these positions require the hands on experience and not necessarily the degree for their skills.

A H1B visa status usually grants you permission to apply for GC via employment from day one. It might take anywhere from 6 months to 20 years to get the actual GC. It all depends where you were born. That is if your company wants to do so. Many companies have their own hangups and you need to find one that will let you apply as soon as possible. L1-A is another one that lets you apply for GC as soon as possible. That usually takes 3 months and is usually the reason why many companies don't do it until the tail end of a visa validity. That's the hardest one to get unless your company is willing to do fraud ( which sadly many do), but USCIS is cracking down on fraud so I wouldn't even risk it unless you really qualify for for L1-A.

There are low skilled worker visas too. They usually don't qualify for GC based on employment. No GC, no way to become citizen.

If you worked for the Pakistani government, you might want to look into their diplomatic mission and see if you can qualify through that. You would be given a different category of visa under government employee or something. Not sure how that exactly works and what rights you have in terms of GC and stuff.

If you have at least US$500,000 dollars lying around somewhere not doing much for you, then you might look into the investors visa and you could "potentially" qualify for GC through that.

The path is long and hard if you want to do it right.
