Hi VJ,

As my husband's interview is approaching, we both are getting more nervous.

Someone told me that the interviews in Afghanistan are a bit different. The interviewee is taken into a room (like when police interrogate) and the questions are asked. I thought the interview was supposed to be face to face.

Does anyone have info? Or is it like this in other countries?

Let me know

Well, i think is not common having the interview like that. Some countries like mine the interview is performed in an open booth. Actually my husband went with me and he saw and heard the whole interview. But I don't think its something bad, is just another way to do things. Just be prepare and stay positive! Good luck

Sadly, he is immigrating from a country that America is/has been at war with, I would expect it to be tougher than "normal".

"If you follow all directions and your answers at the interview match what has been on the applications and the embassy knows that you are not lying or your case is not fraud, you won't be placed in AP" So you have nothing to worry about...and everything will be fine.

The interview is face to face, and according to my fiancé the man was nice, but I'm sure every situation is different. After the interviewer read a couple of hand written letters I had written to my fiancé, he told my fiancé that I must really be in love with him.:) My fiancé got really positive vibes, and here we are almost a year later in AP. If your fiancé knows you, your family, and your situation at home then there is nothing to worry about. Be prepared to spend several months/year in AP, regardless of how well you think your interview went. Best of luck to you dear. :)
