Embassy Interview

Hi VJ members,

I have interview with US embassy in Abu Dhabi on the 12th of August. I am a little confused about what documents should I to take to the embassy. NVC sent us a letter in which it says that they have sent the documents they collected from us to the embassy and we still need to take original documents (apparently whatever we sent to NC including forms) to the interview.

Could someone please list the documents that I would have to to take the embassy

Thanks a million in advance

The docs are all listed on your interview letter.

Hi,

Thanks for your comment. My interview letter says:

''You must bring the following items to the visa interview:

Any original documents the NVC requested that you did not submit (refer to the document list below)

If the physician gives you your medical exam results, bring them to your interview in the envelope sealed

by the medical office.

Two passport photographs measuring 2 inches by 2 inches (5 cm by 5 cm) with a white background

A valid unexpired passport

Photocopies of all civil documents

A new police certificate from your current country of residence, if you obtained the police certificate

more than one year ago.

Any additional documents listed in the U.S. Embassy or Consulate specific interview guidelines

The following table lists the documents requested by the NVC and whether or not you submitted them to the

NVC.

Please note that even though you may have provided the NVC with a copy of a document, you are

still required to bring the original document to the visa interview.''

Looking at the note at the end it seems like I have to reproduce all the forms and documents. I am confused :(

Hmmm this is completely different then what I have from Abu Dhabi.

But, it's still pretty clear.... Just give them everything they are asking for

I think it could be because of the visa type. My visa type is CR1 and yours is K1.

The note in the end means, you may have submitted xerox copy of your civil documents, such as your marriage certificate, birth certificate etc to nvc, Now at the interview you must bring the originals to the consulate. They will return you the originals and keep the copies. OR if you have already submitted the originals to Nvc then just bring copies to the consulate and once again they will return originals and will keep the copies.

Now about the list, its pretty clear in the interview letter (p4) what kinda docs you should bring. Plus, please go through the UAE us embassy website, and see if the consulate have any particular checklist for immigrant visa applicants.

I hope this helps.

One more thing,

You do not have to reproduce any forms that you have submitted to NVC, don't get confused! Everything they have from you at NVC they will forward it all in one file to your local consulate where you will be interviewed.
