My fiancé and I received his case # on Thursday from NVC, I called today and they had told me they mailed the petition to Costa Rica yesterday.

Today my fiancé went to get his medical done at the specific doctors listed on US Embassys Costa Rica website, and has the results in hand, just needs to go back tomorrow to pick up the results of the blood work.

My question is, Is this ok that my fiancé did his medical exam before we even had the interview date.

.......I know the results for the medical is good for 3 months.. Did anyone ever do the medical before their interview date was given?

Thoughts

There is no course for alarm....However,u should have waited until Ur fiancee receives the packet from the embassy before going in for the medical test...The test will only be valid if its still within 6 months prior to the interview date...If the date you receive on the appointment letter don't fall withing the 6 months period,am afraid u will have to do another test...In some countries, you can have an update which might be lesser than the first time tests..All the best and i wish you all well

I'm sure you're good girl! My friend's fiance did the same thing, and everything went well. And I'm pretty certain your interview will be either September or October. So, there's no reason to worry about the medical. Though, I think like princeglove said, it is valid for 6 months. Either that or I think 1 year. So I'm about 100% you're good! good.gif

My case is on its way to Costa Rica since Monday, So I believe it they should receive it sometime next week, and I know Costa Rica doesn't take 6 months to schedule interviews, we called the other day to inquire about available dates and they were for the beginning of August! so I think we are good. smile.pngsmile.png My fiancé wanted to go and get this out of the way! it was almost $200! I need to do things at a certain pace, because I don't have much money right now! So I am hoping things will be fine! But thank you smile.png

It probably depends on which Embassy you are at.

The Italian consulate in Naples says that all medical exams are to occur the day before the interview in Naples at one particular doctor's office. I would double check with the embassy, plus the instructions should be in the packet 3 they will send you.

Hey Guys speaking about medical interviews , How will that work ? Do i need certain vaccinations in advance? I ve heard that Gals from Philipines are asked a bunch of shots etc.

I am originally from Peru, But live in Canada for 2 years. Before to come here i had to go through the same medical review.

If you guys can give more information about it would be Awesome !

My question is also about the medical exam does it have to be sent to the embassy when you return the package with all the documents or can you take it to the interview as he lives far away from the capital and the doctor which are authorized to do this exams Does someone???

Cordobesa, the procedures for the medical exams vary from one embassy to the other. You had already asked this question and you received the answer here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/442679-medical-exam-affidavit-has-to-be-notorized/
