Wowww I wish I could be as relax as you were sad.png I should really work on my self biggrin.png

My stress reaction is essentially to make jokes. I'm the kind of person who'll make a joke in the face of being told someone just died. I can't really help it. I'm a terrible human. biggrin.png

But I had zero worries by the time I got to that window. My husband and I's relationship is genuine, all of our paperwork was in order, I had a file full of extra information if I got some cranky interviewer who wanted to see some proof - what would I have to be worried about? Yours is the same. You'll be absolutely okay.

I don't know. She was jokey, I was jokey. Everyone was happy.

The conversation started with her turning to my husband and saying "Don't be offended, but we're going to talk about you while you're standing right there." with a laugh, like we were about to gossip.

My closing question to her was "so this envelope I can't open, it's just my file and you're using me as a human document mule, right?" To which she laughed and nodded.

We joked that today probably wasn't the day my husband should find out about my convictions too, when she asked me to confirm I had none. "So... Dear... There's something I need to tell you..." I joked at him. She was laughing during most of the interview. She was even doing pretend typing to make me laugh when I commented on her making notes.

Actually our interviewer was just the same. She was absolutely lovely. I agree that by this stage I was fairly relaxed. I was more stressed about the paperwork but once that was out of the way, I felt fine. I knew that our relationship was genuine and that would come across to the interviewer immediately. It was just a handful of questions 'how did you meet?', 'when did you first discuss marriage?' (which was actually 6 days after we reconnected via FB!). It was just a conversation. As with you, I had a load of backup information. I didn't need it and I knew I wouldn't but it made me feel more confident.

I wonder if we had the same lady? She was a black american woman, I'd guess around her mid-30s? Very pretty.

That sounds like her. She was so nice and her smile was so warm.

Yeah! She was brilliant.

So - I think the COs range in manner... some are obviously going to be more laid back than others, but ultimately, everyone I interacted with at the London embassy was courteous and professional. They're not going to give you a hard time for being a human with a sense of humour or for having emotions. :)

Tracy&Greg keep me posted on his interview. The woman at the embassy told me that there is a 6wk delay in actually getting an interview date to be sent to you and then it could be 4 weeks for an interview date (about 10weeks then!) I'm wondering if it'll come any sooner ClockWatch2.gif

Yikes, I hope that isn't true. I'm also waiting for an interview date. Was it the call center you spoke to? I think 6 weeks is a generic response to everything there.

You had your medical a couple weeks before mine. Have you sent off all your forms including the DS2001 and when did you send them? We should keep each other posted.

I booked a flight out for Oct 16th because I was SURE I would have the visa by then... fingers crossed!!

I had a bit of a delay in sending the DS2001 as I was still waiting for the I134 docs. I sent it off at the beginning of this week, signed for yesterday. It probably won't even be read until next week now, but I put a wedding date of Sept 2nd, so I'm hoping for an interview date next month.

We actually plan to wed in October, but we have a lot to sort beforehand.

I'm sure you'll have your visa by October! I would guess your interview would be September at the latest, but then again, nothing can be certain in this process. tongue.png

Edit: Just realised our NOA1 dates were the same!
