27 years in Canada, and I didn't experience this much at all unless it was a major news story like a natural disaster or election.

I only watched local television when my hacked DirecTV card got scrambled. That usually only lasted a day until my Bulgarian connection got me a new program for the card. But I remember most of the news on CTV or whatever was about stuff in the U.S. I lived there in 2002-2003.

Ironic when fake news has such an impacted as real news, and even then "real" news is tailored for the consumption for the masses. Though some may troll on it and just go with the flow, there are those who will believe it when they think others do as well. At work I'll hear people say I saw this on facebook or read this on there, and how they can't believe someone would say/do that. However it seems many of us are lazy to fact check and will choice to believe or not believe before we do. However, we all have freedom of thought, interpretation, and perception.
