The issue is and remains within our borders - there is demand for the labor that illegal migrants provide because the benefit of employing those illegal migrants for outweigh the risk of hiring them. There's an economic incentive for migrants to come here w/o papers. That's the issue. Address that and you won't need no stinking fence that doesn't do anyone any good anyways.

Spot on.

How about making it illegal to hire? You're GDamn right about that.

A common way to keep from paying workers was for the company to report the workers themselves. Then immigration would raid the company and just deport the illegals. Next week they'd get a new batch.

So, how much will these illegals have to pay for their documents to stay here legally and begin their path to citizenship??? $1000 per person???

It is a ton of money and 10 years at least before then can get LPR status, which means any of them is 15 years away from the path to citizenship.

There was some talk about cutting it to 13. Ten years to work off the ban, then 3 years as an LPR before applying for USC. They would be given 2 years credit for remaining in the US and staying out of trouble for the first ten years.

So is there a poll of these illegals showing how many will actually pay the fees to obtain legal status.??

For the ones that don't, nothing changes. They still run the risk of deportation, and living in the shadows. For the ones that do, they pay taxes, pay a fee, and keep the DHS informed of their current addresses, for ten years. Any screw up, they either get deported, or start the ten years over.

African Anonymous!

I don't trust African Anonymous. They always send me emails claiming millions in diamonds if I send them my info and $1000 deposit. After the first 4 never wrote back after they got the deposit I began to think it wasn't on the up and up.

Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice...um...you don't get to fool me 5 times.

African Anonymous!

I thought it was American Airlines!

I don't think there is anything of the kind. Participation in the program in not mandatory, so you only have to pay if you want to stay in the country legally.

And the path to citizenship begins to look more like the 405 during rush hour... LOL....
