SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — An eight-month construction standstill at a North Korean site meant to launch bigger and better long-range rockets may signal Pyongyang is slowing or even stopping development of larger rockets, according to a new analysis of recent satellite imagery.

The sight of unfinished roads and grass growing from the foundation of a large new rocket assembly building could be welcome news for Washington and others who see Pyongyang's nuclear and missile work as a threat — though it is unknown if the work stoppage is only temporary.

North Korea is not a threat. The level of technology there is a joke. The general population is starving.

No one here in Japan is worried about North Korea even though missiles from that country fly over here occasionally.

Sure. But not in the case of North Korea. Have you seen the state of the general population ? And their technology is so poor! If one of their missiles hit an intended target it would be a freak accident. Japan is prepared for any attacks.

Not baiting at all. Japan has taken a non aggressive stance and allies itself with the United States both economically and militarily. Our 7th fleet is based there along with many other bases. I don't consider Japan a puppet, but a greatly valuable ally. This alliance has a lot to do with Japan's decision to not seek nuclear power. You think they would stay non-nuclear with China and NK next door and no US support?

Japan is a fierce fighting nation. I would not want them as a military adversary again.

Oh of course Japan would like to depend on the US for back-up. There is a word in Japanese "amaeru" which is impossible to translate into English. I would elaborate further but there are many bigots here. Research amaeru.
