Hi guys,

I was going through a checklist for the list of items that I need to send to my Fiancee for interview and just had a question for one of the items.

On VJ website, under K1 Guidelines after getting NOA 2, step 3. mentions the following:

Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F).

I looked at the example forms but I only see the sample for (Fiance(e) Letter of Intent). Will it be the same one for the interview? Did anyone else use anything different? Do you have a sample?

Thanks,

I am going to use the same one, just date it with todays date, and bring it with me when I go for the interview, because I believe it has to be an orinial signature, not a photocopy. I am also preparing for my fiancés interview. ( I just found out today that my case was forwarded to my fiancés country)

I just wrote in my updated letter that I am reaffirming my intent from the original letter that I will marry XXXX XXXXXXXX within 90 days of her admission into the United States via the K1 visa.

Thank you, I will probably do the same. Use the same one and update it with the affirmation to marry within 90 days. Thanks again guys !! :)

Thanks,

Each consulate/embassy has its own requirements. The Sydney consulate doesn't require this for the interview.

Thanks,

I used that exact same letter but just changed the address to the Embassy and changed the date.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

Same letter of intent, but add that you continue to support the K-1/I129F. signed and dated originals, from both of you.

You can use the original one but it would be best to give it a current date and at the bottom state that you still intend to marry your fiance.

I think I would also address it to the Consulate rather than the USCIS like you did with the one submitted with the I-129F.

Thank you guys for the information !!

I have updated the letters with Consulate address and the date and have also added that I am basically reaffirming my original intent to marry. Thanks again !!

I may have gone overboard on this one, but I actually did this three times.

First in the petition (it's required).

Next, I mailed it to my (then) fiancee.

Then, I emailed another letter on the day of the interview to the embassy to let them know that yes, I'm still engaged.

What would Xenu do?
