The DREAM Act failed to pass through Congress; you are thinking of DACA, which was an administrative action ordered by the President.

Tom & Stacy,

Do you mean, you never got a receipt either? That's strange. I can understand the long wait for processing, but you should have a least gotten a receipt and an appointment for the biometrics. Let me know...

Thank you! Hopefully you won't have to wait as long as we did. From what I read, it looks like in June NBC started sending the interview waved files on to local offices so maybe the process will start to go quicker. I noticed once they started doing that, people from Sept, Oct and Nov were getting approved. So maybe not too much longer for your hubby!

Hi Agrabs,

We filed in November and still haven't heard a word! They keep giving us different dates that we should be expecting to hear something from them but nothing!!! I really hope they would speed up the process or at least give us an idea where our application is or speak to someone else... seems like the office just gives general answers!

How long did you wait for yours again?

My bad! DACA was what I was thinking of. I got a phone call right when I was going to search for a different thread that I wanted to post a link to that had statistics from NBC about the number of different applications being processed to go with my reply and I got distracted. TY Hypnos

Thanks agrabs.

another question for you and all: since this processing time is taking quite looooonnnggg, i've decided to apply for AP which we did not do when we processed our I-485. . when you applied for it, did you really have to provide an explanation or other evidence showing circumstances that warrants issuance of an AP document? I know it's so vague and a simple "vacation" answer is not acceptable. How far do you have to explain?

You don't have to give details or have a trip planned to apply for AP. we gave a general time frame ( we said December 2012 to travel home to Romania to see family for the holidays ). We didn't end up traveling at the time, but ended up using the ap card in June for vacation. It's a good idea to apply for ap - you never know how long it will take to get your green card .
