Woo! Got approved today! Interview was the easiest part of the process by far. Went into consulate at 8:45, left at 8:59 approved! Barely had to do a thing other than hand over my passport, get finger prints taken, sign a form and then left with my approval slip. Pretty much no questions asked, I suppose it helped having my Fiancee there in person as they weren't concerned about relationship evidence when she was standing there!

So when are you leaving to start your new life?

that's an excellent news !! congrats !! :)

Just have couple questions for you :

1. did you or your fiance(e) get the fingerprints done along with the police certificates?

2. our file is in transit to Sydney and should be there in a day or two, do you think we should get the medical and police certs out of the way ?

Thanks,

The police check has to be done based on fingerprint records so yes you will need to get your fingerprints take, I would do this immediately, also book the medical now as most states especially NSW have a wait time of 1-4 weeks for an appointment. Send in both criminal record check and medical with your packet 3, it will make things easier.

Yes I had requested via email my Fiancee be able to come with me to the interview and they approved and added her name to the security checklist. I saw on the canberra embassy FAQ section for immigrant visas that if you fiance/husband/wife is in Australia they are encouraged to attend the interview, I guess you have to be pre-approved to bring them however as we all know they are quite ####### about consulate security . If you are fortunate enough to be with your significant other it is nice to have them with you and have someone to share the stress and anxiety with!!

I am so pleased for you Alex. I wish I could have taken my husband, he and our daughter walked around for an hour until I came out.

We are just doing our final finishing running around here as we leave to start our new journey in 5 days.

Good luck for your future and your upcoming wedding..

M.
