Agreed. It gets ratings I guess. Also, it allows them to push their overtly racial message nationwide. The media is complicit in all this. I forgot to watch Piers Morgan last night to see if he mentioned anything about GZ's heroics on the side of the Interstate.

I don't see anything similar in them at all, except that a person was killed by a bullet. The shooter was never physically attacked. There was no self defense claim.

The similarity starts and ends with what the victims were doing to warrant attention. The answer is nothing in both cases. They both simply fit a description of someone the shooter ended up having an issue with.

To GZ, TM fit the description of people doing crime in his neighborhood. If he hadn't, there would be no incident.

To Spooner, Darius fit the description of people doing crime to his property. If he hadn't, there would be no incident.

The interesting thing is that they both reacted so differently.

TM's instinct was to attack. Darius' instinct was to run.

They both ended up dead.

There was only 1 dead victim total in both of these cases. TM was not a victim. TM was killed in the process of committing felony assault and battery. The victim in the Sanford case is GZ.

After watching and listening to the trial, I tend to agree with this. I still think GZ shares blame in escalating the situation, but to view TM as a victim, is clouding the facts, imo.
