K1 - NOA1 - April 5, NOA2 - July 24. I am working on geting a few things together for the Packet 3 while we wait for the NVC to give us a Case number.

There just doesn't seem to be any rhime or reason for some approvals quick or lengthy. We filed April 19 (NOA1 April23) I honestly wonder if they deal with Canadians differently. In February I saw people getting NOA2 in 2 months! We had filed a 1-129F but switched to 1-130 because we simply wanted to be married now. We got notification that our 1-129F was about to be approved when we changed. Drats. But I was worried about the wait time for AP. Any Canadians have any thoughts about our timelines? Why would someone who filed after us get approval? I am happy for them but it just seems odd.

Also I wanted to mention that it seems that Canadians need less vaccinations than other countries if you look on the Montreal Embassy info site. Anyone with experience on this?

I think it also goes along with our ages...if they figure you're beyond child bearing (thank God for that!!! haha) then they leave out a couple like rubella.

I had old Canadian records for me and all I needed was a new tetanus as it had been over 10 years and a test for TB.

That was quick! We're waiting on Allanah's passport to get renewed (expires 5 months from expected POE...argh) prior to finishing Packet 3.

It was quick, I am just frusterated because we have yet to see any update online. It is till says initial review so I can't see if it has gone to the NVC yet. I need to get my police check and will likely stop at the RCMP tonight since they are our local police service. Hopefully that won't take too long to get back. My Passport is good till a year October, so that is all good... I hate all this stress in the planning but I am so gald that that is the stage we are at now.

Well, you really don't need to hear back from the NVC with your case number until you *send* in Packet 3. Visit Vancouver or Montreal's consulate page and download the Packet 3 details and start knocking them out. We're stuck because a lot of them need the passport number and expiration

You should be able to have it all done prior to VAC/MTL receiving your hard copy case!

lol I have had Packet 3 done for over a month with the exception of my police report and my fiance's documents which he just has to send to me. But we need a case number, which so far DoS says it hasn't been logged.

My wife filed my I-130 petition a few days ago, and our file was just received by USCIS today. I'm trying to keep positive as best I can that the NOA2 will come quick enough, but seeing so many people who are still waiting from early this year... it's disheartening. But, in the end, it'll all be worth it - just gotta hang in there, and get the next packages ready in the meanwhile!

Welcome to the journey. I am hopefully at the end soon. We got notice today that the case went to Dos for processing Hopefully we will have a case number soon

My wife filed my I-130 petition a few days ago, and our file was just received by USCIS today. I'm trying to keep positive as best I can that the NOA2 will come quick enough, but seeing so many people who are still waiting from early this year... it's disheartening. But, in the end, it'll all be worth it - just gotta hang in there, and get the next packages ready in the meanwhile!

Mine also went to Denver and we were approved in 4 months. Maybe you'll get lucky too!!

So I went on Friday, got the passport pictures i need for the medical and interview. Went and ordered my police check and since the RCMP are the local police for us they were my only choice. They tried to tell me I HAD to have the fingerprints done. I told ehtm that I didn't unless I had a record whcih I knew I didnt so I told them no, jut the checks was fine. I am taking in the Packet3 checklist with me when I pick up my report so that they have accurate information on file for the next poor soul who goes in for an immigration criminal record check. Our Case was transfered to DoS last week and I will be calling every day to get my Case number

It took ~1 week for us to find out that MTL had our case physically in hand. We've sent Packet 3...but now we're waiting on MTL to log it so we can get an interview!
