Hi Everyone! Not sure if this thread is just for I-129F's but thought I'd say hi.

My wife and I just recently submitted our I-130 a week or so ago and received our confirmation of NOA1 the other day.

We're currently working and living in Toronto and were wondering what other's experiences have been in terms of processing times when applying from within Canada?

Can't wait to hear everyone's experiences and follow the many journeys being documented here. smile.png

soulfulsplash should have an MSC number and should be going through the national benefits center not california or texas. They're a CR1/IR1 not k1 ;)

My journey took a little less than 8 months from filing the I-130 to moving and 9 months exactly from I-130 filing to green card. (Oct 13, 2012 to June 13, 2013.)

I found the most annoying part having to go to Montreal for the week but i didn't have a panel physician close by like you will. :D Save you oodles of $$!! LOL Because of the new Kansas center opening up you may find it takes longer than my processing time. I'm pretty sure our I-130 went to a local office but we never called to inquire. The best thing to do is keep busy and anticipate a long wait. I find that makes the actual event happier rather than so much worry. The interview is pretty much cake unless you have some red flags.

Not quite sure which processing center we're out of just yet. No physical NOA1 received. Usually takes a week or so to get mail from outside of Canada via Canada Post.

8-9 months seems pretty quick compared to some of the stories I've been reading!

Fingers crossed for a speedy processing! smile.png

Hi,

We filed our i-130 on March 28th, my husband and I are living in Montreal right now. We have not received our NOA2 yet and it has been 6 months. Hope things speed up soon but be prepared for the long haul. When we started our attorney said 10-12 months no problem for us. Well, he just told us last week that due to the huge backlog it could be much longer. :(

I totally understand. I'm dreading spending the holiday season here in BC, not for weather reasons (as Victoria's weather is always pretty mild), but because I'm working in retail temporarily until my paperwork goes through, and I'm already exhausted from the hours I've been pulling.

Here's to hoping we'll start hearing about some NOA2s soon!

I've been reading a bit about the shutdown via this thread:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/456004-how-would-a-government-shutdown-affect-immigration-cases-merged-withfinally-goverment-shut-down-today/page-11

As you can see I'm on page 11 which isn't the start or the end... but even though I've come across suggestions that Immigration work is still ongoing, I'm certain that there will be some impact overall.

But enough of that talk here, that's what that thread is for.

Keep your chin up pro_star, hope you hear from them soon, and more importantly, hope you sell that house sooner!!

I had to call to find out anything..my fiance never got any sort of email / letter (yet). I had to call DOS the other day just to find out my case is headed for Montreal. You could just not call since I know you are not in any hurry smile.png & just wait till you receive packet 3 probably! It is probably already headed for Vancouver by now since I know your NOA2 was right before mine!
