Hello,

I got married to my wife on 10-29-12 in India. She is a Indian citizen. I am a US citizen. On 11-14-12, I sent out my I-130 submission form. I received my notification on 11-19-12 with my case number. My case number started with MSC which tells me that my file will be in NBC (national benefit center). it has been 8 months now and my status still says "Initial Review". I've called customer service, and only information i been getting out of them is same as online.

I've ran into many people on blogs with their cases getting approved in less then 8 months.

Is my situation normal? is there any reason why they are taking so long? should i be worrying? is there any steps i need to take at this time? does anyone have idea on how long it will still take?

Please HELP me!!!

Also you should be contacting your congressman or senator at this point. If your petition in Atlanta, then my friend, you may have a longer haul in front of you. There used to be a specific Atlanta filers thread. From Aug 15, 2012 sometime in 2013, Atlanta did not work on

I-130 petition they received. They are slower than slow.

I did not receive any notice saying that my file has been transfer to Atlanta. How do I findout where my file is? When I call customer service, they are saying its in MSC.

Speak to a tier 2 supervisor.

The first person on the phone can't see.

But if you've waited this long, and already confirmed ATL is your local field office, then I can almost guarantee you that it's there.

My i130 took almost 11 months, mine was at vsc. Good luck

Perhaps, and I'm sorry it took that long, however, as of August 15, the petitions are now sent to local field offices and wait times greatly vary.

Atlanta in particular is one of only a few very very bad offices.

But when I check Processing dates for Atlanta Field Office on USCIS.gov, it doesn't show that they process I-130. it only shows I-485, N-400, and N-600. I've also sent a email to my congressman describing my situation and ask for help. Will that really work?
