Under tourist visa, will marry a permanent resident

Hello,

I am a permanent resident of Canada. My fiancee and I plan to get married on the last week of August, in the US. I will go in under a tourist visa which I had previously acquired. Our plans changed a bit because we recently got the news that all F2A visas will be current starting on the aforementioned month. I would like to ask if we get married on August 1, would we be eligible to apply for the F2A visa even if we just got married? My apologies if there had been similar topics before. I would greatly appreciate all the feedback or link to the previous topic had there been any.
