We get through the first part of the process to "apply for K1 visa", however it won't let us "add applicant". Enter all of the information...name, etc....hit the "create applicant" button and nothing happens.....it won't let you do anything but "reset form" or "close". Is the website STILL not working. This is absolutely frustrating. Why it works for some and not others, I'm not sure, perhaps traffic to the site, it is a Saturday...Suggestions on next step anyone? I did read an earlier post about contacting the consulate. I will attempt this and update you guys with results, if any...

My suggestion to anybody that hasn't had a medical and been assigned an interview date is just hold off a bit while they get this running smoothly. There is no need to register or anything until you are maybe two weeks from your interview. If you rush this before necessary, you will be caught in the mess and worse off. Your interview letter will direct you to these instructions. http://photos.state.gov/libraries/unitedkingdom/164203/cons-visa/IV019_fiance_appt_letter.pdf Check back because they might even update that.

Those caught in the middle...well good luck.

Yeah we are caught in the middle. Had the medical on 21st June, didn't pay prior to 26th July, since he was unable to get the number to work. Good times indeed :) Thanks for all your help!!!

Yes I have a timeline, but I can't get it to link to my profile...ack!!,headbonk.gif the interview is scheduled for August 14th...biting nails....going crazy...LOL

Sorry, I meant the VJ timeline, which you have. It was somebody else I had clicked on and got mixed up with you.

I think maybe you should give them until Monday afternoon or Tuesday to sort their website and then try again. Maybe they are making adjustments over the weekend so parts of it are offline at different times.

Ok finally after trying since the website went live on July 26th, we were able to pay the MRV fee and select courier, no issues. Please note: we were only able to get it to work thru the non-immigrant side, then selecting "continue", after initially signing up a few days ago under "immigrant" side. Perhaps the site is now actually working...amazing. Now onto the next issue as this entire process is anything but smooth. Thanks for your help everyone!!!

I paid the MRV but don't have an interview date yet, the site let me do it all no hassles ... will this mess me up?

Should be fine. Perhaps once you receive your interview date go back on website and enter it if it allows you too. Bottom line you paid and can prove it at your interview with print out, should be fine. :)

So this is weird, on the website it allows me to select my courier. I've selected the one nearest to my house. I then tried to upgrade it to home delivery,. but that's showing up as this and it won't let me submit my address. I figure you pay the MRV after this and it won't let me onto the next section so I am unable actually pay the fee, and I am unsure if I have paid for the courier? I've filled out my card details (my card is a debit and not a credit card) and it's still; saying my documents will be delivered to the DX hub that I selected. This is such a difficult system to navigate.

The interview letter tells you to read IV19 Fiancé(e) Visa Appointment Letter http://photos.state.gov/libraries/unitedkingdom/164203/cons-visa/IV019_fiance_appt_letter.pdf

There are step by step instructions on where and how to pay at the end.

(not posted for you Emmy, but for others who come along :) )

Hello,

My fiance and I are in urgent need of help.

He had his medical on July 19th, (where we met another couple applying for the same visa), and as far as we knew, we were to wait for the embassy to contact us with an interview date shortly thereafter. Monday, August 5th rolled around, and we still hadn't heard anything. We kept in contact with this other couple, who used a lawyer for their visa, expressed to them our concern over it taking so long, and they informed us that we were to visit https://usvisa-info.com/ to alert the embassy of our readiness before they would assign an interview date. We followed the instructions their lawyer gave us: click on immigrant visa, click on English under United Kingdom, click on Transition Applicants under Help, click the Consular Section in London link, fill out the contact form for further assistance.

I explained to them that we did not fit the criteria for which this is required, but they explained that neither did they and that this was the new way to go about doing things, and that the embassy would provide us with a number to call to pay the MRV fee.

This is when things start to get confusing. We filled out that form on Monday, August 5th. Today, August 9th, my fiance received an email with an appointment with the NON-IMMIGRANT Visa Section for Friday, August 16th! We were hoping for a quick interview, but given the state of things at the moment, this gives us zero time to figure things out. Also in the email, he is told to bring the DS-160 to the interview (which he does not have) and an MRV receipt (which he also doesn't have).

Obviously confused by all of this, we rang the help number, only to be diverted to an agent with poor English speaking skills who was unable to explain any of this or help in any way.

I suppose the question I am getting at is does he have an interview Friday or not? He doesn't want to pay the fees and travel costs and take the time off work only to turn up for an appointment he is not eligible for.

Also, if he is able to attend this interview, is there a way he can pay for the MRV fees before then? And does he need the DS-160? If so, where can he find that?

If someone can help us, please please do.

Thank you so much!

Your instincts were correct before you listened to the others. People getting non-imigrant visas have always called for appointments. Now they request online. Not nearly the number of steps and documentation to get a tourist or student visa. A k1 is processed by the immigrant visa unit. They still assign your appointment. You have the wrong kind of appointment I believe.
