My Fiancé' is trying to memorize lots of information about me and my family.....my Brothers cell phone number, my mothers Maiden name, etc....

This is a lot to memorize....can she have a piece of paper to reference this information during the CFO interview ??....I don't even have my brothers cell phone number memorized....

Please tell me your experience regarding this at the CFO....we just want to be prepared...

Thanks for your input

Cheers,

Lol NO.

This isn't the place where you have a crib sheet. That's totally contrary to the whole point of it.

Your fiance shouldn't know your brother's cell phone number. Why on earth would she know such a thing unless she calls him on the phone all the time? Does she do that? There is such a thing as being unnaturally prepared.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

My Fiance took her Samsung Tablet in with her. When she was asked for pictures, she just pulled it out of her bag and showed the photo's of us together. So why not a notebook.

From her experience, it seemed to be a matter of confidence. I was told that the girls that did not pass the CFO interview were totally unprepared and had to think about every answer. Its not about knowing everything but being able to answer confidentially with what you do know.

Comments on this forum have indicated that your fiancé should know the name and phone number of her Finance's nearest relative....and that is my brother ??

Yes she can bring notes, CFO has no issue with that at all. Some even bring tablets or such with all the info in it. For CFO being extra prepared is not a bad thing.

Greetings OP! My wife just got done with CFO 3 weeks ago and these are the things that the interviewer might ask during the one on one interview:

- your exact address in US

- your phone/mobile number

- what's your job title (petitioner) and what do you do in your job

- this is only if you have a previous marriage/divorced - name of the ex wife, what was the ground for divorce and how long ago the divorce is before you started a relationship

- what are your plans when you arrive in the US (beneficiary)

Remember never to give a hint of hesitation about relocating to the US because if the interviewer hints at the beneficiary having doubts of relocating or adjusting to a new culture, there could be a possible denial..well, the interviewer won't really say the word "deny" but they would say "wait, for our call or email, you can go home for now."

The first stage is they will conduct a classroom style lecture about western culture e.g. Deer heads on your window in the morning (sounds weird to me given that example) but anyway, in general, things they will expect in the US, customs, way of life et. Al. And after that, will be called one by one for the private interview.

Should get there at about 4:30 to 5:00 AM. My wife lived near the area and she got in at 5:15 AM and she was already number 12. Note that CFO allows only 15 immigrants a day. There is an afternoon schedule 2-5PM but just to be sure I think the morning session would be your best bet.

Oh, I am sorry; my mistake.

That CFO is even stupider than I thought... wow.

rolleyes.gifBasically they are going to ask simple questions to determine to what extent your fiancée "knows" you, her answers will substantiate that you and her are indeed in an ongoing relationship. They are simple questions like; where does he work. what's his birthday. how many times has he been married. what happened in each of the marriages that caused it to end. how many times have you met. does he have children. how many, ages and gender. what's his address. what city does he live in. did he go to college. does he have a degree. what is the degree in. does he have brothers and sisters. how many. is his parents still alive. where do they live. These are all questions that she should have the answers to because these are "normal" questions that you would know about a person to whom you plan to spend your life with.

Take a deep breath and exhale slowly (lord knows I have done that many a times rolleyes.gif). The CFO interview, if done with confidence, is a breeze.

There are others who have written about their experience at the CFO within the past few months. Do a search and they will come up and you can read and share with your fiancée their experiences.

Good luck to us all.... and Gods speed
