Very weird here. We have had about 3 hours of sleet. With the 20MPH winds it sounded like someone throwing gravel on the windows. We have about 2 inches of sleet now. It is just now changing over to snow. Some of the biggest flakes I have ever seen. It's gonna be fun.

we got a big tree on our roof and many in the back yard..any tree damage brother gary?

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I haven't been able to get out yet. The appartment complex I live in has not been plowed yet. We ended up with about 14" of snow and about 2" of sleet. The freezing rain didn't seem to cause that much of a problem here thank God. I will get out tomorrow and check out the rest of Peoria.

I'm pissed (US version). We got .000003" of snow. We got about 3 inches of rain first, though. Then we had some sleet. Then it started snowing while the wind was blowing at 50 mph. But the snow quickly stopped, and what snow we DID have got blown away. So we're stuck with the temperatures here in Indiana, but don't get the benefit of the snow to go with it.

It's currently 17.4° here in beautiful, scenic downtown Greencastle.

Driving home from work yesterday morning, I saw a Scion xB get broadsided by a gust of 50 or so, and flipped over. Light vehicle + boxy shape + Midwestern Weather = bad. I used to see the same thing happen to Isuzu Troopers in Wyoming when I lived there.

Anyway, I'm sad that we didn't get any snow. When it's this cold, I want snow dammit!

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

I am glad we didn't get it all as snow. The 2" of sleet we got to start with would have been another 6" of snow if it came down that way. We also got a solid day of rain before this all started. Scary thought if all of that would have been snow.

cold snap here too..was 50s yesterday and only in the teens today...I hate the quick fluctuations like that...will get much worse later in winter, but it feels so much colder when it's so sudden like that.

garyandmarylou...where on the border are you?? I lived in Beloit for the first 20some years of my life, but we live in northern WI now...just curious! :)

be safe everyone who has to be driving! M.

Hi Michelle

We live near Lake Geneva, ive lived here all my life as well.

Cool! Lake Geneva is a *nice* area!! Much nicer than Beloit! :P I did go to school in Clinton though...we were right on the border, so we all did... I'm glad about that. Anyway, nice to see another Wisconsinite! :) M.

Clinton is a nice area tho too. Where up north do you live now Michelle ? Have you gotten much snow? We are digging out of 12 inches here  Gotta love Wisconsin weather :P:lol:

We live a couple hours north of Green Bay now, so wayyyyyyyyy up there! I went from WI/IL border to now living only 15 miles or so from the MI border. In fact, I go to school in MI and we have to do most of our shopping there...really small town here. We only got the smallest dusting of snow! A couple/maybe three weeks ago we got about 7/8 inches...that was our first snow of the season, but then it warmed up to 50s or so again, so it all melted pretty fast. The deer hunters weren't happy with that! :P Now it's dropped back to the teens, but no snow yet. As far as I'm concerned, it can hold off as long as it likes, but Craig loves it...go figure! M.

ETA....sheesh. Sorry I screwed up the quotes! Too tired to go back and fix it now..after our last movie, I stayed up and watched another, so now I'm totally wiped! Just waiting to put clothes in dryer, and then off to bed for me finally! The guys will prob. be getting up long before me tomorrow(today!) Man Utd. playing and all! Anyway...I deleted some stuff and screwed all the quotes up...ah well! :P

Oh hi! I see you down there!

WOW Gary my in-laws and my brother-in-law all live in Peoria, they called yesterday to tell us what it was like up there, but your pictures certainly made me realize we were lucky to just get the 6 inches of snow haha. I managed to lose power thanks to stupid ameren ue electric, we were without power for just under 24 hours, not nice when it's the 20s outside and the apartment was getting colder and colder.
