Long story short he got an interview date for the 16th of september a day after my wedding.... I sent an email to the consulate requesting an expedite on the date just moving it a week earlier but was sent a email today of denial... Any suggestions how I can bring the date up a week... This type of thing is specific to each embassy. In many your interference alone could cause a denial of the issuance of the visa. Your uncle is the one that should do everything pertaining to the visa. He must prove he will return. He should have requested a date that would work but it probably wouldn't matter. They don't care about your wedding date. The embassies are usually very busy and only interview people for these visas one or two days per week. My embassy works on 700 per month for example.

If you need him this badly why not change the wedding date? If you do that its best now to wait until he knows IF he will be granted the visa at all. Keep in mind these tourist visas are not easy to get. Check with people that actually go one from his country. Even then every case is seen as unique so what happened to others may have nothing to do with his case.

If they've already denied an expedite, then your only real choice is probably to move your wedding date.

He could try asking them himself if they can slot him in sooner - perhaps taking someone else's cancellation appointment last minute - that might require him repeatedly asking until a spot becomes free.

Thank you for the responses smile.png

So, Getting a Congressman involved wont help? It's best for him to contact the embassy?

I don't know if I can reschedule the reception or wedding because of short notice the wedding is in less than 2 months sad.png

Trying to get a congressman involved is a huge waste of time and effort. Politicians can do nothing to affect the actions of USCIS. If you do contact one ask them what their last effort in regards to immigration was. They all have a staff member trained to placate the public so you will not be in contact with the politician anyway. Check it out and you will soon see.

Again these tourist visas are hard to come by and the person applying has to do all the work. Have him contact them and he will find the result is the same. Keep in mind these visas are hard to obtain. It isn't as easy as you may think to be granted this visa. There are millions of illegals here now and many came with these tourist visas so the rules have changed.

Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done.

Your uncle's failure to apply on time does not constitute an emergency for the US Embassy. There is no sudden emergency that would justify an expedite.

There are millions of visa application every year. The US Embassy encourages people to apply early so they will have a visa in time. To expedite because people file late would only creat more work for the US Embassy. Too many people would be lazy and file late, then expect an expedite because someone else got an expedite. So, expediting when no emergency pops up is going to be impossible.

A Congressman cannot help. A Congressman can inquire why a case is slow, but not expedite when the applicant fails to apply in an appropriate timeframe.

Sorry.

Unusual for B2's to be out that far, I would also change the date.

That's how I felt when I heard the date.... Now my uncle says as of right now the closest date he can get is September 13, 3 days earlier than the initial interview... but still not good enough because 13 lands on a friday... if he does get approved... How long til he get's his visa? won't be same day right?
