Hi Everyone,

From reading the posts here, I am under the impression that administrative processing occurs after an interview. I have contacted the embassy in Kabul to try to find out when the next round of interviews will occur and they responded stating that my case requires administrative processing. I assumed this was a canned response so I contacted my Senator to look into this matter. My Senator contacted the embassy and then sent me a letter stating that my case was in administrative processing. I don't quite understand this as my fiancé has yet to be interviewed. Could he truly be in AP prior to his interview? In his original packet I included our pictures, a completed I-34 form, and a handwritten letter from him which I attained during our last trip to Dubai, UAE. Anyone else with an experience like this? Is the embassy just giving me lip service or is he really in AP? Any help would be appreciated!

Donna

We are in AP at the embassy, no interview scheduled yet, P3 packet received and replied to. I think this is just a holding state until the interview from other posts I've read on the same subject.

Okay, thanks! I just don't want my paperwork to get lost in the mix! We have yet to receive P3 but at least I feel a little better now.

One can be in AP at NVC, yes.

Thanks but we are past the NVC stage.

Hi there

They emailed me the same thing. So u don't have to worry about it because my fiancé is waiting for his interview as well. At last after bugging them allot they told us that my fiancés interview might occur late August which is BS. Cause i don't believe a word they say. Anyways don't worry Donna Ur not alone there are at least 5 other people waiting for interview for fiancé in Kabul us embassy. Good luck and hopefully they call our fiancees pretty soon. :)

Thank you, Laila. I have been following your posts and timeline as we are both in the same situation. Do you know if this AP will lessen the AP after the interview or is this AP just a way of saying that it is sitting around until interview time?

Your welcome dear, the AP before interview is just their saying of wait a bit till interview and it has nothing to do with the AP after interview and only 95% of afghan male goes under AP but the 5% just get their visa right away or after a week r two. Lets pray that our fiances get their visa awhile after interview and they don't go through AP process. And yes we both r in same situation. The embassy told my fiancé that they will call him for interview almost end of August. You never know they might call our fiances earlier. Goodluck and please keep me updated and stay in touch.

I will stay in touch, I hope we are in the 5% too! This process is too long! I also emailed my Senators asking how immigration reform was going to benefit those of us with loved ones in countries other than Mexico. Is our wait time going to be lessened or just those that broke the law? Of course, they did not answer.

Hi

You would consider yourself lucky if a senator or congressman volunteer to help u regarding immigration issues. They are just a waste of time and energy. I have contacted my congressman and senator office but with no luck. All they tell me is to wait and they can't do nothing. Anyways good luck with everything and I hope the same thing that our fiances are in the 5% lol.
