Ok, I have tax returns, pay stubs and employment letter. For the K1 I also had bank statements, but they didn't want it, should I get those again or the 3 I have are enough?

I'm not in the AOS stage yet, but I think you need to make sure that the copy of the marriage certificate is a "certified" one.

Also, I think you need to include an additional copy of the passport and the K1 visa for the I-765.

If you are applying for AP you need payment ($170), copy of the passport, K1, I-94 and 2 more photos - and I think these are different from the rest (3/4 frontal -right ear visible)

You do not need to send in a certified copy, just either a copy of the original or a copy of the certified copy (even though that sounds ridiculous). We have not had an RFE for marriage certificate, only stupid I-864 stuff.

One more silly question. For the K1 since my husband was still living at home when filling his dad's affidavit (joint sponsor) we put down him as a dependant. Now we have our own place and he's not a dependant anymore but, of course, he's still a dependant as of the last tax return. For the I-864 for his dad (joint sponsor) can we exclude my husband from dependants or should we still keep him listed as one?

^if you make changes to the I-864 then bring your new supporting docs to the interview. i think that's how it's suppose to work. as of now, you guys only made a change of address unless your husband's dad filed his 2006 tax return by the time you have your interview, then make the changes accordingly.

Check the USCIS forms websites for updates because I had an older form that states that I must submit the AOS and EAD forms to my local office, which has changed to the Chicago lockbox.

If the USC gets a raise or change in job, make sure you have an employer letter reflecting that.

Make sure you sign all three cheques ( )

getting the I693A sealed envelope was easy for us although it did cost us ($215 total). we didn't shop around but i'm sure it would be cheaper elsewhere. he got sick when he got here so it just seemed convenient at that time to see my doctor (who also happens to be a civil surgeon) for his cold/cough and second tetanus shot. my doctor charged us the $150 flat fee and ask us to get a new xray since she won't accept the one from St. Lukes. bummer yes...but just glad that one is over.

With all of the recent activity, does anyone have any leasons learned to add. Also, our AOS and EAD checks were cashed and we received our NOA1s yesterday. Now the real waiting begins...
