My lesson... move to somewhere with the dora program... things would of probably been cheaper easier and quicker...

Basically as long as you think you have everything right, just relax and go with whatever, no amount of hoping, praying, whingeing, pleading or going into mindless psychosis is going to help with this process, no matter how gravy your case is.

Immgration process sucks... but best wishes for a speedy process!

hi there

the way i did it was complete each application didnt start another until it was complete with all required evidence...and placed away from the next application

i photo copied my I-94 together with my visa information on one page for both front an back..i figured well if they loose one of the visa photocopy they would still have it on my I-94 copy..(i know i have funny logic)

we filled out the I-894EZ and sent in 3 years of tax and W2 because we already had the photo copies done from our K1 application and i thought it wouldnt hurt ...i also sent in copies of my husbands latest 4 paystubs..

when all was completed i went through an signed everything then my husband went though everything an signed his part put it in the envelope and sent it express post next day delivery with confirmation and tracked it on the USPS website...along with all that we both put some wishful thinking that all will go well ..and it did..

good luck

Lessons learned:

1. Learn patience (if not already got from visa processing).

2. The telephone hotline is useless.

3a. Touches don't necessarily mean anything

3b. Lack of touches doesn't mean anything.

4. Put your name on your mailbox.

5. Get an EAD, even if you think you won't need one.

I agree with what dr_lha posted, let me just add this one.

6. Ask for a Supervisor when you see that the officer at the other side of the counter doesn't seem to understand what your inquries are or if he/she is having a hard time expressing themselves in english. They can F*&^ your stuff up. It's your every right since you paid for it...remember they don't give refunds.

The lessons I learned are

1. Write down the address that you can keep until the day you receive permanent GC. Changing address cause serious delay and lost of important documents or they even send document to your old address somehow after the change. I am not sure if they deliver P.O number box, but we are now using his aunt's address since she has no intension to move for another 5 years.

2. Remenber the name of the officer at the interview. This is very important to chase you case if something happens after the interview.

3. Do not waste your time calling 1-800 number to ask your case. The operator will just tell you to wait another 60 days.

Good luck

This is what I have learned so far:

1. Don't count on the immigration doctor to have your exam ready on Wednesday as promised. Also when he says he'll be at his office @ 1:30 on Friday, he really means that he will be leaving the office @ 1:00 Pm, so forget about picking it up until Monday :)

2. After you fill out the forms, re read all the instruction sheets that came with them, this way, you won't discover right before mailing out your applications, that you didn't add the pictures riquired for the EAD :) (and then you won't have to drive to several places trying to get someone to do them and end up with really crappy pictures).

I learned that having our names inside the mailbox is not good enough and to call my delivery person prior to anything important being sent to us.

I made a checklist for each application after highlighting everything needed on the directions for each application.

The applications really aren't hard it's the waiting/misdelivering/rejecting biometrics/rejecting biometrics again/police report/infopass 400 miles away that is tough/RFE for something you already sent in that can be annoying.

Don't worry about crappy pictures, you'll never see them again. Instead you'll get a really crappy picture taken at you biometrics on your cards.

OMG is that true? You get ready to take a really nice picture to send for your green card and what they use is a crappy one taken without care at biometrics? Do they forget most people care about how they look in their documents?
