WASHINGTON (AP) — House Speaker John Boehner says Congress "ought to be judged on how many laws we repeal."

The Ohio Republican makes the comments on an interview aired Sunday on CBS "Face the Nation." He was responding to a question about how little Congress is doing these days.

Boehner says Congress "should not be judged by how many new laws we create."

He says the U.S. has "more laws than the administration could ever enforce."

Boehner says that view may be unpopular because this country has a divided government. Boehner says he and his allies in Congress are fighting for what they believe in. And he adds, "Sometimes the American people don't like this mess."

The problem with Boehner's argument is simple.

If the Republican party, mainly the Tea Party members, refuse to even consider any type of compromise......no laws will be repealed or passed.

So if believes the "American people" wants more laws repealed......he is not doing his job by not compromising with Democrats.

Yes, we have a divided government, but our Constitution was built on compromise, not obstruction.

I don't see any room for compromise for the next 2 years, sorry.

Not even a tinsy insy little tiny law?

Nope. Not even a teeny weeny tiny one. Now, they tried to repeal Obamacare 40 times already but they have failed with that effort, well, 40 times. Take Boehner by his word and judge him on how many laws he actually managed to repeal. Not one. He is the biggest failure that has ever occupied the office of Speaker of the House.
