I see this as an excuse to bring in shiploads of cheaper overseas workers to US to replace US workers / depress wages, while the US unemployment rate is still high.

If there are lack of skilled workers, universities no producing enough American graduates with degrees in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM),

then the government should look into Education Reform as a long term strategy.

The teacher unions will never let that happen. Not enough high school graduates have the necessary math and science skills to prepare for college.
