Does not need to be notarized, but it is OK if you want to. Make sure to put all needed info in it. See guides! EX " I plan to marry ___________ within 90 days of arriving into the USA as required by K1 visa guidelines" Must be original signatures, no photocopies or scanned attachments.

I don't remember who it was but a couple of days ago I ran into someone who said their attorney told them to have it notarized. I think that was just the lawyer being cautious, though; I don't think most people do it, and they get approved just fine.

The debate on original signatures or scanned copies continues. My friend used scanned copies and got approved. And I have read here where scanned copies were denied. I think it depends on who adjudicates your case. Unfortunately it's up to them. I believe it's safer to use originals but in our instance Vika was unavailable to send the original for a couple weeks so we went ahead with the submission. Hoping for one of the more lax adjudicators for us :). Anyway I'll update once I hear something, either an RFE or an NOA2 approval. We shall soon find out. But to be clear no matter what it does not need to be notarized. Best of luck on your jounrey and be patient as this process is not quick, especially when wait for a loved one to join you. It makes the process seem twice as long.

Thanks for answering everyone:)

I have another question though:))

I am a Filipina currently working in Indonesia, on my G325A for my present address is Indonesia but it has overlapping dates with my philippine address since my permanent address is still Philippines. so it's like this on the form:

Indonesia 2010- present

Philippines 1998- 2013

Someone told me that the overlapping dates are ok since I mentioned that I am just working here. JUst confused about my letter of intent address? The lawyer told us to write my Philippine address there and have it notarized. Is this okay cause I am presently in Indonesia and my letter of intent address is Phil?Help again please!!!!

Letter of Intent does NOT need to be notarized, you do not even have to have an address on it, just your signature. Lawyers! ranting33va.gif:lol:

Will you be heading back to the Phils to do the visa application?

Thanks for the responses :))

The letter of intent was from our lawyer. It says that I am presently residing in the Philippines. On the G325A, I declared that I am presently residing in Indonesia because it's true. I am here working so it means my present address is here right? I realized that my address on the letter of intent doesnt match with my present address on the g325a. Although I also declared on the g325a that i am still residing in the Phil. My addresses dates on the g325a are "overlapping" .So what I did is revised the letter of intent from currently residing to I AM A PERMANENT RESIDENT OF THE (stated my address in the phil) I believe that this is more clear right? any opinion or suggestion before we file the petition..I dont want to mess this so please..help!!!

Based on my personal experience. Ours is not notarized. I printed the letter (sample from VJ), signed it in blue ink. Scanned the letter. Emailed it to my fiance. We got no RFE. We are approved exactly 6 months. All my documents needed are just scanned. NO RFE. As long as you use blue ink, whenever your signature is needed, I think you are good to go :)

Just my personal experience. I had the same question when I was a newbie. I just want to share it.
