Agree. I wasn't suggesting they were mutually exclusive.

I was however pointing out that despite its popularity, a military coup deposing a democratically elected president, in and of itself strips the new government of any legitimacy, as it does to any of its endeavors.

It appears from the poll, that the population of Egypt is more than happy to see the election overturned. It looks like most people in Egypt are looking forward to a "do-over".

It is what it is: what seems to be a non-scientific poll conducted at random by phone, to which approximately 1505 people answered (68% of the 2214 people they called.)

That is typically how polls are done. If a few more polls by other polling agencies produce similar results, then usually the results are considered sound. However, with better than three to one favoring one position over the other, that would at least suggest a strong trend toward supporting the actions of an already popular military.

There is still Turkey. I don't think the US has managed to completely buy them off yet.

But they don't have a common border with Gaza, so that makes things more difficult.

So what do you think? Obviously a us backed military take over in the midst of another civilian uprising. I'm sure you know more than me, is the better or worse for the future of Egypt?

I don't see why y'all have such a hard-on for democracy. Democratic or not, as long as Egypt is stable and predictable and not an enemy of Israel, I think it's all good.
