I was denied a B2 visa in march because the interviewer said I spent to long in the USA the year before (was 7 months spread out and I did not over stay my ESTA) will this affect my K1 application as they will ask if I have been denied a visa before?

No, it shouldn't affect your K-1 - be honest about it obviously

Why did you apply for a B visa and not travel on the VWP?

good luck

It shouldn't affect the K1 unless you lied, such as saying you were married to increase your ties.

I had been going back and forth to the states on a VWP for over a year and never over stayed and would stay for a little under 3 months of a time because I was training over there (mixed martial arts) and didn't think getting a 6 month visa would be a problem because of this. I had 3 fight contracts for this summer as prove and prove I was financially stable enough but was still denied. Wish I never bothered as its messed everything up as now can't even get a VWP anymore. I never lied to the interviewer or on the forms and I'm dreading the fact they may deny me a K1 because I was denied a visa previously :(
