Tax Forms - 1040 or Transcripts

Hello Visajourney members,

We just received our Noa2 a few days ago and want to make sure we're prepared for the next steps with NVC.

This may seem like a common sense question, but wanted to be double sure we're doing this right...

When submitting my I-864, can I send copies of my 1040 tax forms for the last 3 years or do I have to send

them transcripts? If I do need to submit transcripts, I want to order them now and be ready when the

time comes...

Thanks in advance for your replies....

Have a little look at the instruction pdf for that form... there's a section outlining what documentation they would like with the form (7. Item Number 14. Federal Income Tax Information):

Filed: IR-1/CR-1 Visa Country: Canada
Timeline

Either 1040 WITH copies of W2 and any other packets/forms you turned in with your taxes (mine was just 1040ez and w2 for example) otherwise transcripts.

They accepted my 1040 with w2 just fine but i was able to procure the transcript in time for the interview.

The return transcripts are much cleaner IMO.
