VISA is approved......wow... :dancing::dancing::idea::goofy:

I would like to thank all you guys for sharing experience and answering my queries..VJ is really helpful in this journey...

Here is my experience.

My interview was @ Mumbai consulate 2nd April. I reached there by 6:40 AM for 7:30 appointment. Around 6:45 one officer came and asked to form two lines for immigrants and non-immigrants. I was about 8th in the queue. And then officer checked I/L letter and passport in the queue itself.

Then I stand around 25 mins in the queue and around 7:15 they let us inside (Immigrant queue) the consulate.

Here they will do security checking and you should not carry and electronic device like mobile, USB. camera etc. After clearance they asked us to go in hall where they asked language (I choose English) and you have to go window to get token number.

After 10 mins my token number displayed and went to window where one Indian officer took my interview.

Who is calling you.

What is her address. (Full address)

What is she doing for living?

When she first went to US?

Have you ever visited US?

Have you visited any country except US?

Asked for medical, PCC and DS-260.

Gave paper reg Domestic violence and asked me to go through.

Then officer asked me to sit and wait for another call. After 10 mins my token displayed and I went to window where one American consulate greeted.

Though I selected English he asked few questions in my Native language ( I was surprised). and took my fingerprint and I read oath.

Then he started asking me few questions.

Who is calling you?

What is she doing?

Where is she leaving?

Did she ever visit Washington?

How many people attended your wedding?

Why such small number of people?

Love marriage or arranged marriage?

That's it. He said your visa is approved and gave instruction to pay fees $165. And said you can go home (relax) your visa will be delivered in 3 days at mentioned location on ustraveldocs.

He did not asked any sort of evidence. Consulate was very nice and polite and the key is be relaxed and answer in good manner. So I was out by 8:00 AM and entire process took around 45 mins.

Good luck to all you guys.

Hi Naga,

@F2A PD 12/2/11

It is not necessary. Since you are not US citizen and don't have any appointment letter yourself, I am not sure they will let you inside the consulate. If your spouse is in the US, then it's mandatory to accompany her to the interview in the US. If she is going for consular processing, you don't need to go with her.
